WELCOME TO MY SITE, I HOPE YOU ENJOY LOOKING AROUND IT
Like so many others I have had a life long passion in textiles. Over the course of my life this has taken many different forms including designing and making wedding dresses for a shop in Cheltenham, ball growns and cocktail dresses for Mess functions, hand embroidery including completing the Certificate of Creative Embroidery with the very talented Janet Edmonds, even at one point helping to design and make a tent . My textiles now tend to lie within a general patchwork and quilting area, taking the form of quilts, hangings and 3D pieces of work.
I have also had a life long passion for being in the wilds of the mountains. In recent years this has begun to inform my textile work. In particular the landscape, my days in the mountains, the weather particularly snow and ice, but also the culture of the area which is inspired by the poetry and prose relating to it.
I have recently completed the C&G Diploma in patchwork and quilting with the inspiring tutor Barbara Weeks; as a result of this I have been delighted to be selected by the Contemporary Quilt group within the Quilters Guild from a national process to take part in this years "In the Spotlight" at the Festival of Quilts. This years theme is to celebrate Lewis Carol's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and is "Adventures in Wonderland". My work is entitled "Adventures in Snow and Ice"
